The Arch’s holiday tradition is back. Gateway Arch Park Foundation’s Winterfest, now in its 11th year, runs at Kiener Plaza from November 21, 2026, through January 3, 2027.
What’s new
Organizers say this year’s layout spans the entire plaza and adds interactive light displays, a curling cafe, trivia nights, and new igloo themes. Three new igloos were added because of demand, and igloo reservations are already open and expected to sell quickly. The event is presented by Bank of America and World Wide Technology and features about 100,000 twinkling lights.
The rink
Skate rentals cost $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 3 to 15, and guests who bring their own skates can skate for free, according to local reporting. Opening day starts with the Winterfest 5K, presented by Edward Jones, along with a one-mile fun run or walk, followed by free skating and a festival of lights.
Hours
- Thursdays and Fridays: 4 to 8 p.m.
- Saturdays and Sundays: noon to 8 p.m.
- Extended hours during the final week of December, including 4 to 8 p.m. on Christmas Eve

Programming
Beyond skating, guests can expect karaoke, character appearances, fashion mixers and shows, ice carvings, art galleries, spirit tastings, and markets. The season also includes a New Year’s celebration with fireworks.
Free to enter
Winterfest itself is free, which organizers say lets everyone take part in the holiday tradition, while also supporting downtown businesses. Executive Director Ryan McClure said families return each year to introduce someone new or create their own milestone memory.
