Hank Willis Thomas is a conceptual artist who celebrates Black civic engagement using a variety of mediums, including installation, sculpture and photography. “In my work,” Thomas says, “I am trying to walk the fine line between making a point that is critical and serious and something that draws us to it, because it’s beautiful.”
