The legacy of Doug Eason, one of St. Louis’ legendary radio personalities, will be celebrated during “The Golden Era of Black Radio,” presented by the National Black Radio Hall of Fame.
For generations, Black radio has been more than entertainment. It has served as a trusted source of news, culture, music and community connection, with personalities like Eason helping to define an era when the relationship between broadcasters and their listeners was deeply personal.
Eason’s voice and presence became part of that rich broadcasting tradition, earning him recognition among the influential personalities who helped shape the sound and spirit of local radio.
On August 8, from 3 to 6 p.m., the National Black Radio Hall of Fame will bring together legendary local radio voices and industry pioneers at the Post-Dispatch Building in downtown St. Louis for a special fundraising event honoring Eason’s life and contributions.
The gathering will celebrate not only one remarkable broadcaster, but an important chapter in Black media history. Through this tribute, Doug Eason’s legacy will continue to remind us of the enduring power of Black radio to inform, entertain, inspire and connect communities across generations.
