This short film was made for the Seven Tones Project, a collaborative initiative paring quarantined musicians and filmmakers to create short films inspired by the music of Billy Strayhorn

Lush Life can be defined as high-end excitement, sophistication, and intrigue. When I was asked to choose a song from the various music selections for this project, I gravitated towards this particular one because I felt compelled to display this idea through a humanistic lens. Despite these very troubling times as a society, it is the wonderful memories held and the amazing people loved that makes a life Lush
The footage is a collection of various phone captures sent from my friends and family and footage I’ve had on my phone over the years. I edited it all together with some minor color grading, to create an experimental short film in coordination to the various tones in the music.
