Lady J Huston, a multi-talented award-winning blues and jazz songstress, takes readers on a journey through her musical career in this in-depth article.

Lady J Huston is a Multi-talented, award-winning vocalist, trumpeter, songwriter, recording artist, entertainer extraordinaire, and one of the best Blues and Jazz singers to grace our presence. She was on the season finale of America’s Got Talent and a featured story on ABC World News Tonight with Diane Sawyer. Born in St. Louis MO., Lady J grew up in Pruitt-Igoe.

Lady J Huston

Her mom was a vocalist, so she always had a background in music. What makes her music unique is the stories she tells throughout her songs are true stories. What separates her from other artists is she is one of few females that plays the trumpet, and she incorporates other styles into her music. Lady J Huston is versatile, and studied music theory and composition so she is deeply involved in her arrangements.

As Lady J got deep into music, she toured and performed on the same stages as B.B King, Bobby “Blue” Bland, Muddy Waters, Etta James, and plenty of others. While climbing up the ranks, Lady J Huston was hit with a health crisis in 2013. 

After putting in hard work to overcome her illness, She returned in 2018 and debuted at The National Blues Museum with her band The Lady J Huston show.

Her new single “Groove Me Baby” is taking the world by storm and being played all over the world. Groove Me Baby is a very sensual retro soul and blues song that is sure to capture the minds and hearts of all its listeners. This new single is escalating her to heights that she has never seen before.

She is now focused on pushing out more of her own original music. Lady J Huston is moving full steam ahead. She will be performing Sunday, Sept 11 at Music At The Intersection which is a two-day festival at The Big Top stage with her other band “The Albert King Alumni Tribute Show”, She will be performing on September 24th at The Blue Strawberry with her band The Lady J Huston Show, and she is also working on a documentary that is now in the editing phase.
