Debora Grandison is a 35-year survivor of Heart Disease, Type-1 Diabetes and she’s also living with Graves Disease.The initial road to healing was challenging, as her heart issues were misdiagnosed for 20 years.
Debora now lives life to the fullest with an insulin pump and a pacemaker and with purpose! She is very passionate about sharing her journey to educate and advocate for others and has been requested to speak on local, national and global platforms.
She’s a 2019 GoRed For Women Real Women and is presently serving as a member of the Oversight Advisory Committee for the AHA Health Equity Research Network (HERN) on the Disparities of Maternal and Infant Health.
Debora has now joined the University of Pennsylvania’s Family as a Core Investigator & Consultant for AMETHIST @ Penn, where she will assist the Administrative Hub on Patient Advocacy and Policy. Debora will also serve on the AMETHIST @ Penn Equity Advisory and Oversight Board.
Debora is the Founder of “SHE SPEAKS FROM A JOYFUL HEART” where her mission is to use her inspirational speaking platform and her creative poetry, scripture verses and prayers to encourage, inspire and empower others. Debora believes that the words that we speak over ourselves have a direct impact on our physical and our mental health and that there’s significant healing power in our words!
Debora’s health journey has increased her faith and given her the strength to “Rise Above” adversity! She believes that she is STILL here with the purpose of helping others understand that they too can “Rise Above” their challenges…no matter what they might be!
She is currently promoting her 1st book of inspirational poetry and prayer entitled,
