Celebrate Halloween at Michigan Central Station with free candy, family activities, and live entertainment on Oct. 31.

Get ready for a one-of-a-kind Halloween experience as Michigan Central Station transforms into a festive wonderland for the entire community. On Friday, October 31, Michigan Central and Ford Philanthropy are hosting “Halloween at The Station,” an unforgettable evening filled with free candy, family-friendly fun, and live entertainment at one of Detroit’s most iconic landmarks. This event is a perfect example of Michigan Central’s commitment to creating inclusive, family-centered programming that celebrates the city’s vibrant culture and creativity.

This special celebration combines an outdoor festival with the monthly “Fridays at The Station” music series, offering something for everyone. From trunk-or-treating with festively decorated Ford vehicles to hands-on science experiments and live music, it’s an evening designed to bring the community together for a spooktacular good time. Prepare to see The Station fully lit with Halloween lights as you join fellow Detroiters for a night of fun and festivities.

What to Expect at Halloween at The Station

The event is designed to be a comprehensive celebration, blending outdoor fun with indoor entertainment. Whether you’re bringing the whole family for some trick-or-treating or looking for a unique night out with live music, you’ll find it here. The festivities kick off at 5 p.m., ensuring there’s plenty of time to enjoy all the activities before the night is over.

Outdoor Festival Fun for All Ages

The area in front of The Station will be buzzing with activity from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. No tickets or registration are needed for this outdoor portion, so everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the festive atmosphere.

Trunk-or-Treat: What’s Halloween without candy? Ford employees will be on-site, handing out treats from a fleet of creatively decorated Ford vehicles. It’s a safe and fun way for kids to experience the joy of trick-or-treating.

Hands-On Activities: Keep the little ones engaged with a variety of exciting activities. The Nutty Scientist team will be there to lead fun, hands-on experiments. Kids can also get creative with mask-making, have their faces painted, or get a caricature drawn. Don’t miss the glow-in-the-dark art and numerous photo opportunities to capture the memories. To top it all off, complimentary cider and doughnuts will be available to keep everyone warm and happy.

Fridays at The Station: Halloween Edition

The celebration continues inside the historic station from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. as part of a special Halloween-themed edition of the popular “Fridays at The Station” series. While costumes are welcome, please note that masks are not permitted inside the building for safety.

Live Entertainment: The indoor stage will feature an incredible lineup of local talent. Get ready to dance to the beats of DJ Dez Andrés and DJ Cisco, enjoy the sounds of Gabriel Duran, and watch amazing performances by the Motor City Street Dance Academy. You can also witness art come to life with a live painting session by artist demaciiio.

Food and Drinks: Satisfy your cravings with seasonal offerings from a selection of local food vendors. For the adults, a bar will be serving specialty cocktails, providing the perfect way to unwind and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere.

A Commitment to Community and Culture

Halloween at The Station is more than just a party; it’s a reflection of Michigan Central’s ongoing mission to serve as a hub for culture, community, and creativity in Detroit. By opening its doors for events like this, the historic landmark becomes a gathering place where residents can connect, celebrate, and create new memories.

This event, supported by Michigan Central and Ford Philanthropy, highlights a dedication to providing accessible and engaging programming for everyone. It’s an opportunity to experience the revitalized energy of The Station while celebrating a beloved holiday with friends, family, and neighbors.
