Residents impacted by recent tornado damage will have a direct opportunity to access help, information, and on-the-spot assistance when STL Recovers hosts a Tornado Recovery Community Meeting and Resource Fair on Monday, January 20.
The meeting will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Yeatman-Liddell Middle School, located at 4265 Athlone Avenue, in the heart of one of the neighborhoods affected by the storms. The event is designed to connect residents directly with city officials, recovery specialists, and service providers working on tornado response and long-term rebuilding.
A key focus of the evening will be private property assistance, including programs for demolition of unsafe structures, debris removal, and home repairs. Residents will be able to apply for tornado recovery programs on site, ask questions about eligibility, and receive guidance tailored to their specific property and circumstances. For many homeowners and renters navigating damage assessments, insurance gaps, or safety concerns, the meeting offers a clear entry point into the recovery process.
City representatives and members of the tornado recovery team will be present to explain available resources, outline next steps, and provide updates on ongoing recovery efforts. Attendees will also have the chance to raise concerns, share challenges, and get clarity on timelines and expectations—helping to reduce confusion and ensure that aid reaches those who need it most.

Beyond paperwork and applications, the resource fair aspect of the meeting emphasizes connection. Residents can engage face-to-face with the people responsible for coordinating recovery, strengthening trust and ensuring community voices are part of the rebuilding process.
STL Recovers officials encourage all affected residents—whether facing major structural damage or lingering cleanup needs—to attend. The January 20 meeting represents a practical step toward stabilizing neighborhoods, restoring homes, and moving forward together in the aftermath of the storm.
