ST. LOUIS — Job seekers looking for immediate employment opportunities will have a chance to connect directly with hiring officials as the City of St. Louis and the St. Louis Agency on Training and Employment (SLATE) host a major hiring event on Friday, June 5.
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at 1520 Market Street, First Floor Conference Room, in downtown St. Louis. Organizers are seeking to fill approximately 200 Limited Term Utility Worker positions within the City’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Forestry, while also recruiting candidates for a number of seasonal lifeguard openings.
Officials say the hiring event represents an opportunity for residents to secure employment while contributing to the maintenance, beautification, and operation of St. Louis parks and recreational facilities during one of the busiest times of the year.
Unlike many hiring fairs, applicants will have the opportunity to participate in on-site job interviews, allowing qualified candidates to move through the hiring process more quickly. Prospective employees are encouraged to bring an updated resume and should be prepared to discuss their work experience and qualifications. A valid driver’s license is required for utility worker positions.
The hiring initiative comes as municipalities across the nation continue efforts to strengthen public services while creating employment opportunities for local residents. Parks and recreation departments play a critical role in maintaining community spaces, supporting youth programming, and providing safe recreational opportunities for families throughout the summer season.
SLATE officials encourage interested individuals to apply online prior to attending the event. Applications can be submitted through the City of St. Louis employment portal, allowing candidates to expedite the interview process before arriving.
For many residents seeking stable employment, career advancement, or seasonal work, the event offers direct access to hiring personnel and an opportunity to learn more about available city employment opportunities.
Individuals with questions about the event may contact SLATE at 314-589-8000.
