KIRKWOOD, MO — Laughter will take center stage for a meaningful cause as nationally recognized comedian Guy Torry headlines Comedy for a Cause, a special fundraising event supporting educational opportunities for students of color in the Kirkwood School District.
Scheduled for Sunday, November 8, 2026, at 6 p.m., the event will take place at the Keating Theatre at Kirkwood High School, bringing together national entertainers and the St. Louis community for an evening of comedy, music and philanthropy.
Presented by Kirkwood Teachers of Color (KTOC) in partnership with the Kirkwood School District Foundation, the event features an entertainment lineup that includes B-Phlat, Malena Smith, Larry Greene, Tim Convy and DJ Vthom, with Torry serving as headliner and host.
Beyond the entertainment, the evening carries an important educational mission.
All proceeds will directly benefit the KTOC Named Award, a scholarship established in 2020 to help graduating Kirkwood High School seniors pursue higher education and career training.
The scholarship supports students who identify as Black, Indigenous or People of Color, maintain a minimum 2.5 grade-point average, and plan to attend two- or four-year colleges, technical schools or trade programs.
By connecting entertainment with educational investment, organizers hope to strengthen opportunities for young people while encouraging community participation in their academic and professional futures.
General admission tickets are $25, available online through Friday, November 6, and at the door beginning at 5:30 p.m. on event day. A 50/50 raffle will also offer attendees another opportunity to contribute to the scholarship fund.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the show is recommended for audiences ages 18 and older.
For St. Louis-area residents, Comedy for a Cause offers an opportunity to enjoy an evening of entertainment while investing in the educational aspirations of the next generation.
