Join us at the 8th Annual #BlackWallStreet314 Festival taking place on Saturday June 24, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Historic Wellston Loop, 5900 block of Martin Luther King Drive St. Louis, MO 63113. It is free and open to the public. At this year’s festival, we celebrate 50 years of hip hop and its impact on St. Louis culture and community. We are excited to share with our supporters, sponsors, and community residents our main event will be the all-time great, Doug E Fresh.
Doug E. Fresh is an American rapper, record producer, and beatboxer. One of the earliest beatboxers (and still seen as one of the best), Fresh can imitate drum machines and various special effects with often startling accuracy. Fresh’s early records are out of print and have never been released on compact disc; thus, original records can command high prices. His recording debut was 1983’s single “Pass the Budda,” also featuring Spoonie Gee and DJ Spivey. However, Fresh’s breakthrough was 1984’s “Beat Street” behind the Treacherous Three. Added to the lineup also includes St. Louis’ own T-Dubb O, Bates, Tef Poe, Shorty AKA Reggie Son and DJ Cuddy!
#BlackWallStreet314 celebrates black culture and focuses on uplifting and complimenting residents and businesses working together to have an improved community. This year’s festival will highlight the concerted effort in improving housing stock, business development, resident capacity building and anti-displacement totaling over $9 million dollars. Come discover the energy and richness of the #BlackWallStreet314 Festival.
