Through his non-profit organization, Pure Living Recovery and Rehabilitation, he plans to open a drug and alcohol rehab facility by Spring 2024 to help those in need.
According to Reggie, there are limited options for long-term abuse centers in the nearby area. He explains, “After some time, I chose to turn my life around and return to my community to help others.” He continues, “It has been a challenging journey. I am the sole contributor to this project and have received no partners, loans, or grants. I have faced setbacks, such as a break-in right before our planned opening, where thieves stole the electrical wiring and plumbing materials and caused damage to the roof.”
However, Reggie remains determined to open the center and offer support to those in need, regardless of their financial capabilities. He aims to focus on serving the underprivileged and uninsured individuals who often do not receive proper assistance in inner-city areas.
The plan is to establish a 50-bed facility with specialized group and individual therapy, along with a 90-day inpatient treatment program based on the 12-step recovery approach. Our program will utilize evidence-based therapies and provide continuing care to address all aspects of addiction, including physical, psychological, and social components.
At Pure Living Recovery, we recognize the crucial link between mental health and addiction. To help our clients on their journey to recovery, we provide a variety of mental health services to address any underlying emotional and psychological factors that may have played a role in their addiction. Our team of experts offers support and guidance, empowering individuals to gain the necessary skills and confidence for long-term recovery. In addition, Reggie is on his way to completing his certification in Substance Abuse Counseling and Trauma Care as he finishes his final semester at the Drug and Alcohol Institution. This further enhances our commitment to providing top-notch care and support for our clients’ well-being.
Argus St. Louis Online is very proud of Reggie D., and wish him the very best, in all of his endeavors.
