Explore the impact of Hasan El-Amin and the Black experience on design expression and movement, and the importance of diversity in the field.
As we approach the end of black History Month, I’ve introduced space, some deep reflection, connection, and appreciation for our rich history, culture, and people.
Celebration for me looks like connected with my roots and tapping to my source and use a fuel of my day to day.
My A in connection in celebrating blackness has been this fantastic book, the Black Experience and Design Identity Expression, and a Reflection.
This book has been a powerful read on the nuff analysis as a black man at black designer, predominantly white spaces and a pleth of other identifiers.
The black experience in designs, compilations conversations, stories and research has initiated a shift and not only my design, ideologies and intent, but also how I interact the world.
Honor those who came before me when create, swap, being unapologetically me. Unapologetically play.
