Testing, testing mic check one two, one two. Just right before the first launch of a number songs comes through amplifiers. The introduction of the master of ceremony is loud and clear. Welcoming the crowd by saying, “ladies and gentlemen I am DJ Blu Boi your MC and musical entertainer for the night. Bringing to your listening enjoyment some of your favorite Hiphop and R&B songs you love to hear. Let’s get it started off with one of my favorite artist!” Then that beat drops into the song “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See” by Busta Rhymes.
The intermediate period into music
Born into a family of two loving parents, and an older brother on February 6th, 1980, raised up in West Point Mississippi. Anson Bryant throughout his years of growing up he was introduced to many different genres of music. You could even say “ that was the good old days house cleaning music.” When his mother would be cleaning up around the house on Saturday late morning while listening to “Love,Love, Love” by Donny Hathaway. This is and was an amazing experience for Anson, as he would now find himself falling in love with music.
The the treble clef stage
Growing up through the 80’s and 90’s the a lot of the popular music in most of the genres had the attention of Anson. Even some of the best Country Western songs would just tell a good story to an ole Mississippi boy. Needless to say, music was beginning to become a very special soulful experience as time progressed.
Henceforth, music is now considered a passion and not just a past time. While attending school at West Point High School the saxophone was somewhat a challenged, but not nothing that could stop another opportunity to learn the blue notes like saxophonist Sonny Stitt. Hitting those warm tones put a spin on things.
Pushing play and letting it spin
After getting introduced into how a rotation works and learning how the spin table has so many different effects on keeping a party alive. Begins a new love for the art of music. The sound affects, the beat, and lyrics of a song are the most important attributes in a great song. Moving the fader up slowly on the mixer, just right before the song “For the Love of You” by The Isley Brothers fades out. Drops into play “Love T.K. O.” by Teddy Pendergrass. Through it all after learning about the different tones, speeds, rhythms and melodies of some of the greatest artists and musicians around.
Don’t bother the DJ by saying
PLAY SOMETHING GOOD.
CAN YOU PLAY SOMETHING WITH A BEAT?
I DON’T KNOW WHO SINGS IT AND I DON’T KNOW THE NAME OF THE SONG, BUT IT GOES LIKE THIS.
EVERYBODY WANTS TO HEAR IT!
I CAN GET LAID IF YOU PLAY IT!
I WANT TO HEAR IT NEXT!
I DON’T KNOW WHAT I WANNA HEAR. WHAT DO YOU HAVE?
With that being said It’s now time for the world to be introduced to DJ Blu Boi . A down south DJ extraordinaire, who love the technology of how music is created.
