ST. LOUIS, MO— The St. Louis Delta Foundation, in collaboration with the Saint Louis Alumnae
(SLA), Alpha Omega City-Wide, East St. Louis Alumnae, and Saint Louis Metropolitan Alumnae chapters of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., along with local retailers and community partners, will bring its spring community service initiative directly into neighborhoods across the region during the 2026 Trunks Up Extravaganza on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Inspired by the popular October Trunk-or-Treat model, participating vehicles will line the parking lots with decorated “trunks up,” distributing personal hygiene and non-perishable food items to residents.

This year’s four service locations include:
● Berkeley Fire Station – 8404 Airport Road, St. Louis, MO 63134
● Urban League – 1408 N. Kingshighway Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63113-*11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
● Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church – 2100 W. Randolph St., St. Charles, MO 63301
● St. Vincent de Paul Cosgrove’s Kitchen – 3718 State St., East St. Louis, IL 62203

“This is our fifth year and one of our signature community events,” said Dawn Gipson, Chair of the St. Louis Delta Foundation. “Each year, the Trunks Up Extravaganza has grown rapidly to what it is today. Last year alone, with the help of community partners, we served over 900 unhoused and underserved residents across six locations. With the addition of the Urban League and St. Charles County sites—and in light of last year’s tornado devastation—we
expect to serve closer to 1,500.”

“We are pleased to have the Urban League and St. Charles locations added this year,” said Tracey Carter, President of the Saint Louis Alumnae Chapter. “All four service locations were selected to reach communities with the greatest needs. Our goal is to make a difference by distributing personal care items and bringing a little joy to members of our community.” Items distributed will include soap, deodorant, toothpaste, laundry detergent, hand sanitizer,
and light healthy snacks.
“The SLA Deltas, along with our sister chapters, will make each location festive and fun for this community-wide event,” said Shannon Fox, SLA member and event chair. “In addition to the personal hygiene products giveaway, we will serve light refreshments and share other fun
treats while supplies last.”
Community members wishing to donate personal hygiene products or non-perishable food items, or those interested in volunteering, may email CAI.sladst@gmail.com.
This community service event is the second in a three-part series of service projects commemorating the Centennial year of the Saint Louis Alumnae Chapter.
