When Survival Is Weaponized (Part One)

ST. LOUIS — In a time where personal safety has become an increasing concern for many, a powerful opportunity is being offered to the community: practical, real-world self-defense training led by one of the nation’s most accomplished martial arts professionals.
Jermaine Andre, a U.S. Martial Arts Hall of Fame inductee, former UFC veteran, and experienced self-defense combat expert, will host a Free Adult Modern Safety & Defense Workshop (18+) on Monday, April 13 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at The Heights Meeting Room (Dumas).
The workshop is designed not just as a demonstration—but as hands-on, actionable training focused on helping everyday individuals recognize danger, respond effectively, and protect themselves in real-world situations.

Andre brings decades of experience to the training, including work as a professional bodyguard, police trainer, mentor, and educator. His approach centers on awareness, prevention, and practical techniques that can be applied immediately—regardless of prior experience.
Participants will be guided through critical areas of personal safety, including:
Threat Preparation – recognizing potential dangers and planning safe escape routes
Situational Awareness – identifying risky environments and suspicious behavior before situations escalate
Grab Escapes – techniques to break free from common physical holds
Basic Strike Defense – protecting oneself from attacks and targeting vulnerable areas for escape
Q&A Session – direct access to expert guidance and real-life scenarios
Organizers stress that the goal of the workshop is not to promote confrontation, but to empower individuals with the knowledge and confidence to avoid, de-escalate, and survive dangerous situations.
In an era where unpredictability has become part of daily life, self-defense training is no longer optional—it is essential. Whether walking to a car at night, navigating unfamiliar environments, or simply being prepared for the unexpected, these skills can mean the difference between vulnerability and control.
The workshop is open to adults 18 and older, and admission is completely free, making it accessible to anyone looking to strengthen their personal safety.
For more information or to inquire about the training, participants are encouraged to connect with the organizers directly through Jermaine Andre’s JAMA (Jermaine Andre Mixed Martial Arts) program.
This event is more than a class—it is an investment in personal security, awareness, and peace of mind.
In a world where preparation matters, this workshop offers a simple but powerful message: be aware, be ready, and be able to protect yourself.
