ST. LOUIS — A growing national effort to develop the next generation of leaders is making its way through communities this month as part of the Maxwell Global Youth Initiative, a program designed to equip, inspire, and empower young people with essential leadership skills.
Taking place during the months of April and October, the initiative mobilizes Maxwell Certified Trainers to engage youth where they are—inside schools, churches, community centers, and mosques—removing barriers to access and creating meaningful, real-time learning environments. Organizers stress that sessions will be conducted wherever they are welcomed, making the program accessible across neighborhoods and institutions.
The program focuses on practical leadership development, emphasizing communication, confidence, character, and decision-making. Through these trainings, youth gain real-world skills that directly address challenges they face today, including bullying, anxiety, lack of direction, exposure to violence, and the pressures of social media. The goal is not only to teach leadership, but to help young people navigate real-life situations with confidence and clarity.
To date, the Maxwell Global Youth Initiative has reached more than 2.4 million young people worldwide, reflecting its growing impact and relevance in communities seeking to invest in youth development.
Locally, the effort is being supported by Carl Green, a Maxwell Certified Coach, motivational speaker, and mentor who is working alongside other Maxwell Team members to expand the initiative’s reach throughout the St. Louis area. Together, they are partnering with community leaders, educators, and organizations to deliver impactful sessions that meet youth where they are.
“This is about reaching young people in real spaces and giving them tools they can actually use,” Green said. “Leadership is not something they have to wait for—it’s something they can step into right now.”
Importantly, all trainings offered through the initiative are provided at no cost, ensuring that access to leadership development is not limited by financial barriers.
