Union Blvd north is flooded, but the water is receding going south of Soldan International Studies toward Delmar Blvd. Please use other means of travel heading south at Union.

There were stalled cars at Page/Union, A young man got out his car to divert traffic going north toward Page, to the old Hodiamont Track road.

A stalled car hit a Jeep had added to the mayhem. I did see one police cruiser doing their best to get to the scene.

Early when the flood hit I drove up a residential street due to it being hilly. Along with other cars that couldn’t see due to the rain and flood, we all waited it out safely.

I saw children walking in the water and trying to get home from school. My heart broke for a young woman carrying bags and purse from getting off a bus maybe, that couldn’t get through the water down the hill.

As the rain stopped, the Mayor Tishaura Jones contacted all residents by phone, to make them aware of the situation.

Moreover, as I drove away toward receding waters, to safety of my west end home, I noticed more stalled cars and several accidents. Folks panicking and not relaxing like we did and wait it out.

People please be safe and drive carefully. In a flooding situation, try to move away from the water to a hill, and do not attempt to drive through the water. In addition, do not PANIC!

I am thinking there is flooding and rain related accidents on Highway 70/Union. So, a lot of cars tried to divert it, and wind up getting in the mess of the rain and sudden flooding. Keep in mind there are several tributary at Forest Park that are overflowing as well. Causing the Metrolink to suspend operations.
