U.S. Rep. Cori Bush reflects on the January 6th insurrection at the U.S. Capitol and discusses the current state of American politics.

Today marks 3 years since a white supremacist coup, instigated by Republican extremists, took place in our nation’s capital. It was a stark reminder of the right wing extremism we still must overcome to defend our democracy. We need more leaders who are willing to stand up against this sort of violence.

Cori’s first ever legislative action as Congresswoman was introducing a resolution calling for the removal of the Members of Congress who had tried to invalidate the votes of millions of people, especially Black, brown, and Indigenous voters, and whose actions led to an attempted white supremacist coup that put thousands of lives in danger and left five people dead.

We need Cori’s leadership in Congress to combat white supremacy and right-wing extremism. Cori leads with love and not violence, like the insurrectionists. Can you give $5 today to help re-elect Cori so she can continue fighting for the people against white supremacy in the halls of power?

https://secure.actblue.com/donate/cb_em_20240106?express_lane=true&amount=23&refcode=express&link_id=13&can_id=bec1c64a46e5ac3da5ae9f2906e55269&source=email-its-time-the-unhoused-have-their-own-bill-of-rights&email_referrer=email_2162001___subject_2690964&email_subject=3-years-since-the-insurrection&refcodeEmailReferrer=email_2162001___subject_2690964

Unfortunately three years after the insurrection, the same Members of Congress who were complicit in the assault on our country still walk the halls of Congress, introducing and promoting legislation supporting their fascist agendas. They have managed to dodge responsibility, ignore subpoenas, and avoid any and all accountability, but Cori refuses to allow racist, hateful attacks on our democracy and communities to go unchecked.

The people of our country must be assured that no fringe group of white supremacists has the power to overthrow the government they fairly elected. They deserve to know that their political leaders unabashedly denounce white supremacy and oppose allowing those complicit in Congress. This is what Cori has been fighting for since that day, and it is what she will continue to fight for until we’ve removed white supremacists from all seats of power.

Because Cori speaks truth to power, corporate and war-mongers super PACs, funded by GOP billionaires have put a target on her back. And they’re planning on spending millions against her. They may have the money, but we have the people. We have you.

Donate $10 or whatever you can today to help ensure we have the resources to reelect Cori this year so she can continue legislating and leading against white supremacy and for a future where we can all thrive.
