A Happy New Year’s Video Message from Mellve Shahid, Sr. CLICK HERE |
As we enter the New Year and the thought of what 2024 brings, I looked to see the significance of its meaning and just how it applies in the life of a cancer survivor. I was startled with its interpretation. The number 24 is about aligning your heart with your actions and finding a sense of balance and peace by enjoying the beauty of life regardless of your present situation or the outcomes. My mind drifted back to a conversation I had earlier in the day with a cancer survivor about being patient with oneself and appreciating the beauty of this life even with the pains and scars that this disease leaves behind. We can’t allow this disease to enter our hearts as it has entered our bodies, filling it with anger, rage, and depression which can destroy our peace of mind and the sensitivity that exuberates from our hearts. It also interferes with our feeling of gratitude for our loved ones who support us during the most crucial moment in our lives. They love us beyond the limitations of our physical bodies and see the beauty of our spirits and the life we have to offer. The medicine of love that they share can heal us if we would only allow it, no matter what life throws at us, it will never break our peace, confidence or self-esteem. As the new year is upon us, lets walk in a new understanding that our actions matter as we work hard to create the balanced life needed to keep things from falling apart. Life is a juggling act from the time we hit the floor in the morning to the time we go to bed at night. We must work hard, keep faith and trust in God so we don’t drop the ball along the way. But if we do, just smile, pick it up and start over again. Nothing beats a failure but a try!!! “Step Out, Step Big and Step Strong as We Soar in 24” |
