Kicking off the NFL Season with another year of our NFL Weekly Game Picks, along with a little bit of fantasy and betting tidbits, to add a little flavor to your NFL weekends.

Game 1

Detroit vs Kansas City – Returning Champs hosting the Lions at GEHA Field, I expect the Lions to be very tough, and this could be a high scoring shootout. But Mahomes is still the King.  Winner – KC Chiefs

If you’re betting this one I’d take the over (53 points is the number).

Pittsburgh vs San Francisco – Shanhan and Purdy find a way to beat a very live Steeler team. Winner – SF

Tampa Bay vs Minnesota – Tampa will be god awful this year, the fighting Kirk Cousins will make the purple wearing people of the Twin Cities happy.  Winner – Vikings

Houston vs Baltimore – Lamar has new weapons, a new OC, and a new contract, when big Truss picks up the phone he says ā€œNew phone who dis?ā€ Taking the Ravens at the Bird Bank in B B-More to win comfortably.  Winner – Ravens

Tennessee vs New Orleans – Derek Carr will have a decent defense on the other side of his team for the first time in his career.  The Saints will march out of the Mercedes Benz dome with a W over the Titans. Winner – Saints

Arizona vs Washington – Sam Howell will open up some eyes, and a sold out FedEx Field (it’s been a while ya’ll) will bear witness.  The Dan Snyder era is over.  ā€œLeft Hand Up, who are we? the Commanders!ā€ Winner – Commanders

The Cardinals Cringy head coach

Carolina vs Atlanta – Bryce Young vs Desmond Ridder, I’m going to just boil this game down to this. I’m rolling with the cats from Carolina.  Winner – Panthers

Jacksonville vs Indianapolis – Intriguing QB matchup, Anthony Richardson an athletic freak of nature, versus a playoff tested, National Championship winning stud in Trevor Lawrence. I’ll take the polish of Lawrence this time out but Richardson will do something spectacular before this ball game is over  Winner – Jaguars

Vegas vs Denver – Sean Payton I expect to come to Denver and get that team together after a disastrous 2022 under Nathaniel Hackett.  Payton > Josh McDaniels.  That’s what this comes down to.

Winner – Broncos Country, Let’s Ride!

Russell Wilson at his cornball best ?

Miami vs Los Angeles (Chargers) – Tua vs Herbert a great QB match up, but I’ll take Mike McDaniel over Brandon Staley.  I’ll take Tua in Tinseltown.  Winner – Fins up! Dolphins.

Philadelphia vs New England – NFC Champs should take care of the Patriots who are on a downward trend, maybe Bill Belichick is in his final days of coaching.  Winner – Eagles

Dallas vs New York Giants – The Cowboys have a better roster, including a better quarterback.  But things can get weird in an NFC East game, so the Boys should be on upset alert. But I’ll take the Boys.

Winner – Cowboys

Buffalo vs NYJ – I think Josh Allen misses the tutelage of Brian Daboll, and 2022 wasn’t a banner year for him. Stefon Diggs is eternally miserable wherever he is.  The Bills are a slight favorite.  I think Aaron Rodgers has some solid weapons, is back with his old OC Nathaniel Hackett, so he is not learning a new offense. I expect an already good Jets defense plus A-Rod’s veteran leadership to knock off the Bills in week one at home in the Jersey Swamp.  Winner – Jets (Upset Special)
