ABOUT US

As we celebrate our significant growth—including serving ten times the number of students compared to our early years—we are thrilled to announce our rebrand as LEAD STL. This new name embodies our unwavering commitment to Leadership, Empathy, Advocacy, and Diversity, while marking an exciting evolution in our mission. LEAD STL is a trailblazing non-profit organization dedicated to igniting transformative social change in the greater Saint Louis area. With a special focus on the Black and Jewish experiences, we commit to dismantling systemic injustices through immersive learning and empathy building.

Join us in driving systemic change, healing communities and lighting the way to a brighter, more inclusive tomorrow.

Cultural Leadership is a youth educational and leadership development organisation that exists to develop a generation of socially aware, culturally conscious youth leaders. They train diverse local middle and high school students in the St. Louis region to become ‘trouble makers of the best kind’ by encouraging their curiosity, courage and passion for social justice and equality.

Cultural leadership’s mission is to create a more just and equitable community by educating middle and high school students to recognise and resolve issues of privilege and injustice through the lens of the African American and Jewish experience. Established in 2004, Cultural Leadership has now trained more than 400 young people to develop leadership skills, facilitate dialogue, build relationships, and create change in their circles of influence.

We bridge divides while preparing youth to be the next generation of leaders who will make the world a better place. In order to expand our services and grow our impact, after 19 years, we are rebranding to LEAD STL from Cultural Leadership.

IN THE COMMUNITY

Our commitment to social justice and equity extends far beyond the walls of our organization; it is deeply rooted in an active, ongoing collaboration with the community we serve. We recognize that the most impactful change arises from ground-level activism, facilitated by direct engagement with local schools, organizations, and individuals. Through partnerships, workshops, and immersive learning experiences, we aim to bring about a collective shift in understanding and action. This community-centric approach ensures that our programs are not just tailored to the needs of the community, but are also powered by the very people striving for change. It is this symbiotic relationship that amplifies our impact, allowing us to foster leadership, build cultural understanding, and enact meaningful, long-lasting social change.
