The Urban Policing Youth Academy is using community engagement to empower future generations and build stronger, safer communities.

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN FOR ACADEMY DATES:

JUNE 17-28, 2024

Applicant Interviews will be conducted April 15th – 30th, 2024, Acceptance Letters will be Sent on May 4th with Instructions.

Youth Police Academy

The Urban Policing Youth Academy is a hands-on educational program designed for teens interested in exploring careers in law enforcement, featuring activities like crime scene investigation, mock trials, and demonstrations by specialized units. The youth academy program runs from June 17 to June 28, 2024.

Program activities include but are not limited to crime scene investigations, K9 demonstrations, aviation unit introductions, SWAT tactics, and use of real-time crime centers.

Students aged 14-18 with a minimum 2.5 GPA can apply. Two non-family recommendations, a clean disciplinary record, and no criminal history is required upon applying. The program is completely free for all participants. This includes all activities, meals, and accommodation, making it accessible to a wide range of students interested in law enforcement careers.
