While everyone waited for the countdown to the showing of the video in which Memphis police officers savagely beat Tyre Nichols. I felt a sick feeling in my stomach.

It was a horrific and unfortunate truth that nothing has changed in America. We can add this police brutality to a long line of videos showing the torturing of Black bodies by the police. What makes this story even sadder is the majority of the police officers who committed this heinous crime of murder are black.

We are becoming desensitized to the constant acts of violence that we steadily have to regurgitate about creating change. I have come to the realization that this will continue to be a problem that plagues our society.

I reached out to the Black Community for a Word from the Street to see what are their thoughts on the police beating of Tyre Nichols
