Summer is often viewed as a season of vacations and relaxation, but for job seekers across the St. Louis region, it can also be a season of opportunity.
The St. Louis Agency on Training and Employment (SLATE) is inviting residents to take the next step toward employment and career advancement at its upcoming Summer Career Expo, scheduled for Wednesday, July 15, from 9:00 a.m. to Noon at 1520 Market Street, First Floor Conference Room, St. Louis, Missouri
63103.

The event promises to connect job seekers directly with employers, workforce resources, and career opportunities throughout the region. Organizers are encouraging attendees to come prepared, emphasizing one simple but powerful message: “Dress to Impress!”
For individuals searching for their first job, a new career pathway, or opportunities to re-enter the workforce, the Summer Career Expo offers much more than a traditional job fair. It serves as a gateway to networking opportunities, career exploration, and direct engagement with employers seeking qualified candidates.
Attendees are encouraged to create an account and pre-register through jobs.mo.gov before arriving at the event. Pre-registration can help streamline the process and allow job seekers to maximize their time meeting with recruiters and learning about available positions.

The importance of workforce events like the Summer Career Expo cannot be overstated. Employment is more than a paycheck; it provides stability, purpose, and opportunities for personal and family advancement. Strong employment opportunities also contribute to stronger communities by reducing
economic disparities, supporting household stability, and creating pathways toward long-term financial security.

As the St. Louis region continues its efforts to strengthen workforce participation and connect employers with talent, initiatives like the Summer Career Expo play a critical role in bridging the gap between opportunity and access.
Job seekers are encouraged to bring copies of their resumes, prepare to engage with recruiters professionally, and take advantage of the networking opportunities available throughout the event.

SLATE also recommends that visitors park at the Kiel Center Garage, located immediately behind the building at the corner of Clark Avenue and 16th Street, for convenient access to the expo.
Whether you are a recent graduate, a seasoned professional seeking new opportunities, someone reentering the workforce, or an individual simply exploring your next career move, the Summer Career Expo offers an opportunity to make meaningful connections that could lead to your next job and your next chapter.
