St. Louis Black Authors of Children’s Literature

The FIRST…. Believe 7 opens with Believe Art curated by Marquis Terrell. A Believe exhibit. A Black child’s window to look through and see themself.

Some of the artists featured in these photos are Marquis Terrell, Deonne Moore, Christian K. Casaine, Marquis Jackson, and David Gordon.

Thank you to Mr. Craig Williams, President, Jordan Brand, and the Nike Black Community Commitment Initiative for their generosity in providing the financial support for The Believe Projects at Barack Obama School in Normandy Schools Collaborative. The literacy lab is designed to improve reading proficiency, especially students in K-3.

We are ensuring all children become confident and competent readers by the end of third grade.
