For those who do not get AARP, and know that they should. I understand you want to not be reminded of the aging process.
However, AARP keeps me and my parent updated on everything from jobs to travel resources. In addition to my idle moments, I can play games, use my reward points and answer quizzes.
So, get out of your mid life crisis and go and subscribe to a great aging resource.
Kansas City, MO is already a hidden gem in Missouri. Sure there is St. Louis, but the world talks about its I-70 neighbor all the time.
Situated at 18th and Vine, the American Jazz Museum is a sight to behold. Full of history, in which the Kansas City area lives up to it, with jazz clubs all over the city.
Even if you can’t get to Kansas City, you can go to AARP and tour the place virtually.
AARP:
From swing to bebop, music has long flourished in Kansas City, fueled early on by local officials’ decision to turn a blind eye to violations of the nation’s reigning Prohibition laws. Nightclubs—and jazz—proliferated.
Many of those clubs were located near 18th & Vine streets, home today to the American Jazz Museum, now celebrating its 25th anniversary. Throughout 2022, AARP has teamed up with the Jazz Museum to offer free virtual tours of the institution and the surrounding neighborhood, often known as the place where jazz grew up.
Each session featured a different jazz great and ended with live music from Kansas City musicians.
Our fourth and final tour of 2022 is November 19th and we hope you will join us –Â this tour features the late great Count Basie!
