Get to know the remarkable Bruce Carlton Cunningham Jr., the St. Louis native making waves in the world of filmmaking with his talent and passion for storytelling.

Bruce Carlton Cunningham Jr.

Bruce Carlton Cunningham Jr. stands as a phenomenal force in the world of filmmaking, contributing his skills as a writer, director, producer, and editor. Born and raised in St. Louis, MO, Cunningham’s cinematic journey spans an impressive 23 years, marked by dedication, creativity, and a passion ignited in his youth.

His entry into the world of film began during his college years, where, at the age of 20, Cunningham started producing short films. Post-graduation, he extended his talents to both producing and acting in various shorts and theatrical productions for his local church. When asked about his initial foray into filmmaking, Cunningham fondly recalls the pivotal role HBO played in shaping his aspirations. Two films, Berry Gordy’s “The Last Dragon” and Ridley Scott’s “Legend,” fueled his curiosity, sparking a desire to unravel the magic behind crafting fantastical worlds.

Cunningham’s latest project, “UN-RESOLVED,” marks his debut independent feature film. He took on the monumental task of writing, self-producing, and raising capital for the venture. Throughout production, he wore multiple hats, serving as the lead actor and editor. “UN-RESOLVED” unfolds as a gritty, sprawling tale of revenge, reminiscent of a Shakespearean drama. An ex-convict strives to reconnect with his daughters and forge a new life, only to be drawn back into the shadows of his past.

In this interview, Cunningham passionately conveyed why audiences should watch “UN-RESOLVED.” He emphasized the dedication poured into the film, describing it as inspirational, humorous, dangerous, and heartfelt – a cinematic journey that transcends genres and evokes a range of emotions.

For those eager to experience Cunningham’s storytelling prowess, “UN-RESOLVED” is available for free on the streaming service Tubi. The film invites viewers into a world where family, redemption, and the echoes of one’s past converge in a compelling narrative.

Looking beyond the present, Cunningham reflects on his legacy. He envisions a lasting impact marked by relentless determination and a commitment to completion. “That whatever I put my hand to, I’m gonna complete it. That I kept doing it until it was done and completed,” he asserts, emphasizing a tenacious spirit that defines his cinematic journey.

Bruce Carlton Cunningham Jr.’s story is one of inspiration, dedication, and a lifelong pursuit of artistic excellence, leaving a powerful mark on the world of independent filmmaking.
