First and foremost, when you invite visitors to come to St. Louis, no visit would be completed, without a mentioning of our crown jewel Forest Park. No doubt, that we have the ever so popular St. Louis Zoological park, Jewel Box, The Muny; largest out door theater, and most definitely The St. Louis Art Museum, one of Missouri’s treasures.

It should be noted, that there are so many other wonderful awe inspirations, not found anywhere in the country. As a result, Forest Park has a spot that I’d stumbled upon recently, and I must say it is a beauty.

Additionally, I found a very stunning corridor by accident, after I’d gotten my grounding. The place was called The Hatchery, and I must say, many trips to Forest Park, and I have never thought it existed.

The Forest Park hatchery in St. Louis, Missouri, is a state-run fish hatchery that has been in operation since 1908. It produces a variety of species of fish, including bass, bluegill, catfish, perch, salmon, trout, and walleye. They offer several on-site services, including trout stocking, pond construction, lake renovations, and a fishing education program. In addition, they offer a variety of workshops and classes on topics such as casting, knot tying, angling safety, and fish biology.

Visitors can also enjoy fishing at the hatchery’s ponds or wade into the Clark-Boeker Trout Stream. The Forest Park hatchery is a great place for those looking to learn more about fishing or spend a day outdoors with family and friends.

I was taken back to the days of old Louisiana, because I could have sworn there were some bayous tucked way back in the green space, as I explored like Lewis & Clark. Moreover, not to my surprise, there were the familiar gaggle of geese, welcoming just about anyone to their humble play pen.

Come one come all, while in St. Louis, because there is so much to explore in Forest Park.

About Forest Park:

Forest Park is a large public park located in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. At 1,293 acres (523 ha), it is one of the largest urban parks in the United States and the biggest in St. Louis. The park, which is great for walking, biking, rollerblading, and more, contains a number of attractions including the St. Louis Zoo, the Missouri History Museum, the St. Louis Art Museum, the Muny outdoor theater, the St. Louis Science Center, a golf course, and many other attractions. It is also home to a number of permanent sculptures, monuments, and fountains. The park hosts many events throughout the year, including a hot air balloon race and several music festivals. A large portion of the park is designated wilderness and includes the Des Peres River.

In the meantime, enjoy some photos I took during my visit.
