In St. Louis, a legendary event has been illuminating the lives of countless individuals for over fifty years. Ming Lee, the dynamic host of “Miss Fannie’s Ball,” has transformed this event into a celebration of strength, resilience, and authenticity. Moreover, what started as a fashion show has evolved into a pageant that honors the journeys of trans women and drag queens, celebrating the power of self-expression.

In addition, Miss Fannie’s Ball comprises three captivating categories that showcase the incredible talents and charisma of its participants: presentation, evening gowns, and talent. In the presentation category, the contestants radiate confidence in swimwear and swimsuits. Then, they grace the stage in exquisite evening gowns, bedecked with fabulous hair and jewelry. And the talent segment is a testament to the unique abilities each participant brings to the stage.

Furthermore, the highlight of the night is the crowning of a winner, who not only receives a coveted crown but also earns the right to be showcased in the media and a generous cash prize. However, the true reward lies in the celebration of individuality and the bonds created within the LGBTQ+ community.

Ming Lee, the driving force behind Miss Fannie’s Ball, has a remarkable list of accomplishments and is known for her well-rounded entertainment skills. Hosting her own show at Prism STL, she serves as an inspiration to aspiring trans women, and female impersonation performers.

Last, her advice is simple yet powerful: “Be yourself first of all, and stay focused on what you want to accomplish. Surround yourself with people who want to support you.” It’s this mantra that has kept Miss Fannie’s Ball alive and thriving for generations, a testament to the resilience and empowerment of the LGBTQ+ community in St. Louis.
