About a minute into the video, Bosley says he sees the woman in the street trying to rob another driver, who he says drives past and knocks her down.
Bosley drives back to where the woman is lying on the snow-covered street and demands to know if she has a gun. He says he has his and threatens to shoot her in the head if she pulls a gun on him.
Bosley eventually gets out of the car and starts to help her up, but retreats when he can’t determine if she has a weapon. He gets back in his car and heads to a BP gas station at Madison Street and North Florissant Avenue, where he talks to a police officer.
Police confirmed they responded to an attempted robbery at Madison and North 20th streets around 9:15 p.m. Thursday and found Bosley and the woman, 40-year-old Bianca Robinson. She was charged with first-degree robbery and armed criminal action, and police said they found a knife in her pocket.
Bosley, who represents the 3rd Ward, said Friday he is still processing the incident. He lamented that someone would be brazen enough to try and carjack an alderman, and then try to rob someone else down the street.
“That’s one thing we gotta work on in our city,” he said.
