In the ever-evolving landscape of digital media, UIN TV stands out as a trailblazer, reshaping the way people consume content. I recently had the opportunity to interview Kianga J Moore, the PR Representative for UIN, who shed light on the company’s origins and its visionary approach to Internet protocol television (IPTV). UIN, short for Urban Information Network, takes pride in being one of the first IPTV companies in the United States. According to Kianga, it provides a platform for individuals to stream a variety of video content and services. Founded by Timothy Moore, UIN has garnered acclaim for its groundbreaking Paid Per View streaming video concept, earning recognition for its forward-thinking business model.
Kianga, with a background in journalism, emphasized UIN’s commitment to keeping journalists relevant in the Information Age while also providing them with opportunities to generate income. The company boasts affiliates across the United States and is now making strides in the African market. One of UIN’s notable initiatives is its annual film festival, which has been running for the past six years. This year, the company is taking the festival to a global level with the aptly named “Keepers of Our Culture Presents The UIN Global Film Festival.” Scheduled from February 1st to February 29th, coinciding with Black History Month, the festival promises to be a celebration of the themes, history, and culture of Black people from around the world.
UIN’s Global Film Festival will showcase a diverse array of films from the African diaspora, spanning categories such as drama, history, documentary, and experimental. This move underscores UIN’s commitment to providing a platform for underrepresented voices and stories. As UIN continues to expand its reach and influence, it remains at the forefront of the IPTV revolution, shaping the future of digital entertainment.
