I understand the love between a parent and their children, even though I don’t have any offsprings. I do appreciate and feel the passion and sacrifice, a parent goes through when trying to protect their youth.
I just feel that a child under the age of 18, shouldn’t be allowed to tell me that they want to identify as the opposite gender. My belief is that a child should grow up and make those decision as a young adult.
Take a look, a Missouri family is leaving the state, due to anti-LGQTB laws, after their 16-year-old child being a transgender. There is no way I am uprooting my life to cater to a child’s needs.

‘They’re just tired of it’: Family with trans teen moving from Missouri amid anti-LGBTQ law
Sixteen-year-old Avery Jackson does not feel safe in their home anymore. Their mother said they are all ready for a fresh start.
If they do not feel safe in Missouri, then where will they feel safe at? Is it the mother, who wants to just leave or is it really the child, who is not feeling safe?

KANSAS CITY, Mo. —Courtesy of KMBC News
An area family said they are fed up with threats and attacks against their transgender teenager. So, they’re leaving town and the state of Missouri.
This comes as the Human Rights Campaign declared a state of emergency for LGBTQ+ people in the U.S. More than 75 anti-LGBTQ bills have been signed into law in states across the country. Two of them were signed in Missouri.
The Jackson family has always lived in Missouri. They have roots in Kansas City and their family lives close by. But they said it’s time to move somewhere that their trans teen can thrive.
For almost a decade, Debi Jackson has been advocating for transgender youth. Debi is a mother of a trans teen.
“The first few years, we honestly thought, like so many others, that visibility was the key to change,” Debi Jackson said. “That if people just saw our kids, if they saw trans people, they would recognize their humanity. And that’s all that we needed to move equality forward.”
Her child, Avery Jackson, just turned 16-years-old. They have also spent years advocating for trans rights – testifying in state capitols and sharing their story.
“Avery’s not just known here. They’re known across the country and actually around the world,” Debi Jackson said. “That’s one of the reasons it’s really hard for them right now. Politicians love to use their image as the image of trans kids.”

Transgender is an umbrella term used to describe people whose gender identity does not match the sex they were assigned at birth. It can include people who identify as non-binary and gender non-conforming. Transsexual is an out-dated term used to describe someone who has transitioned from one gender to another; typically either male to female (MTF) or female to male (FTM). It is sometimes used interchangeably with “transgender” but is considered to be an offensive and out-dated term.
In closing:
In addition to this, just a few months ago, in May, Dwyane Wade Left Florida Because “My Family Would Not Be Accepted There” The former Heat star explained why it was time for his family to leave DeSantis’ Florida.
Another example of a parent looking after the best interest of their child.
“One of our decisions was what was going to be the safest and best community for our daughter, Zaya” the former athlete told Variety at the 2023 Met Gala, adding that Los Angeles was where they settled.
He added that while he loves Miami, its people and that the city “has done so much for me,” he’s taken issue with the laws and politics of the state.
“But the last couple of years, the laws, the politics, you know, has really become this big conversation, right? It’s unsafe conversation, and it’s unsafe for my daughter, it’s unsafe for the young kids and the youth and adults, the elder in the trans community,” Wade said. “And so for us, as much as I love that city, as much as I’m always going to be a part of it, for the safety of my family, that’s what it was. I couldn’t move back.”
I am not a heartless blogger, but where is it ever going to be safer than Florida? And he is a celebrity at that, so, I am wondering where will he move his trans-daughter to?
Last, only time will tell, and we shall see if these parents are making the right decision for their teens.
