“We are in the coffee business, but it’s equally important for us to support our community,” Blueprint Coffee co-owner Mike Marquard says in the press release. “We are proud to launch our first giveback product and bring awareness to some of the incredible organizations creating powerful change and supporting the needs of our community throughout St. Louis.”
Blueprint’s mission, as stated on its website, is to create “a mutually beneficial relationship loop among our producers, vendors, wholesale partners and customers. Good coffee must be good from the start.” The website further says, “Sourcing coffee is the first integral step we take in the seed-to-cup process.”
The company sources coffees from countries in Central and South America and Africa, working with farmers, exporters and importers that uphold and promote its vision of good coffee originating at the soil. These international partnerships are part of Blueprint’s “green buying vision” for the industry, focusing on high-quality coffee by sustainable, healthy practices in roasting and brewing. The company’s goal is to “reduce the input costs of fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides” and support “a healthier environment for the plants, people and earth,” according to its website.
Blueprint Coffee has three locations in St. Louis: one on Delmar Boulevard connected to the roastery, one on Washington Boulevard and one on Watson Road.
