Learn about the legacy of civil rights activist and attorney Kenneth Powell and his impact on the fight for racial equality.

Born and raised in the heart of St. Louis, Missouri, Kenneth Powell is not just an attorney, but a man deeply rooted in a tradition of civil rights activism. Because his family’s legacy of fighting for justice and equality runs through his veins, inspiring his journey to become a prominent figure in the legal world. Powell’s connection to civil rights activism can be traced back to his grandfather, Dr. Jerome Williams Sr., a fearless leader who spearheaded numerous civil rights protests. In addition to the family’s impactful history, Powell’s father lent his voice to history by singing at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s funeral.

Moreover, these profound family influences laid the foundation for Powell’s commitment to making a difference.  Academically ambitious, Powell earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas (KU). During his time there, he wasn’t just a student but a leader as the Captain of the Men’s tennis team and President of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc.

Powell’s journey took a turn toward the sports industry, where he spent a decade as a licensed sports agent representing clients in Major and Minor League baseball. However, his true passion led him back to the realm of law. Currently, he primarily focuses his practice on personal injury cases.

At the helm of The Powell Law Firm as Managing Partner, Kenny Powell stands as a dedicated advocate for his client’s rights. His commitment to treating each client as he would want to be treated ensures that justice is served, no matter the circumstances.

Beyond his legal prowess, Powell finds joy in his family. A loving husband to April and a father to three daughters, he cherishes the moments spent with them. Furthermore, his passion for tennis translates into mentoring St. Louis youth, helping them tap into their potential and secure college scholarships.  In essence, Kenneth Powell’s journey from a legacy of civil rights activism to becoming a respected attorney showcases his unwavering commitment to justice, equality, and the betterment of his community. His story stands as an inspiration for all those who believe in the power of dedication and advocacy.
