Join us in celebrating the success of Mokan’s Class of 2021 at their 29th Commencement Service. Honoring their achievements and future endeavors.

MOKAN’s 29th Commencement Service

Celebrates its Efforts to Expand Opportunities for MBE and WBE Contractors

On March 15, 2024 MOKAN CCAC Pre-Apprentice Construction Program completed their 29th graduating class at the O’Fallon Parks and Recreation Center Complex. MOKAN in furthering its efforts to provide opportunities for MBE and WBE contractors on construction projects in the St. Louis metropolitan area since 2015.

MOKAN wants to ensure that these programs continue to prepare non-traditional construction workers to enter and succeed within Registered Apprenticeship union and non-union programs and provide industry-specific training for minority contractors. MOKAN’s goal is to increase the number of qualified MBE and WBE contractors and workers as well as to increase the amount of public and private dollars spent with them. MOKAN has provide opportunity for minorities for over 50 years.

The Executive Director is Ms. Yaphett El-Amin has held this position for 16 years. She believes in meeting challenges head on and loves supporting the black community. MOKAN’s motto” We work so that you can work.” The dedicated and committed staff of professionals works hard on a daily basis to ensure that MOKAN is out front advocating. MOKAN’s goal is to increase the number of qualified MBE and WBE contractors and workers as well as to increase the amount of public and private dollars spent with them. 

Terrance Smith, President of ATAV was the guest speaker. His business is a full- service electronic automation technology sale & installation company with over 30 years of electronics sales & installation experience. ATAV is the only African American company that holds a contract with Missouri Lottery.

The class was a great success some student has secured their letter of intent. Great job!!!!!!
