This prestigious recognition signifies the program’s commitment to providing high-quality education and care for children.
St. Louis, Missouri – Better Family Life is proud to announce that its Youth Passport to the Future afterschool program has been accredited by the Missouri Accreditation of Programs for Children and Youth. This prestigious recognition signifies the program’s commitment to providing high-quality education and care for children.
Pamela Speer, Executive Director of Missouri Accreditation, commended Better Family Life’s afterschool program as the only accredited school-age program in the St. Louis area. Achieving accreditation places the program in an elite and unique group that upholds a high standard of quality.
Missouri Accreditation sets rigorous quality standards for programs catering to children from birth to school-age across the state, and goes beyond the scope of state licensing requirements, and focuses on the qualitative aspects of a program’s physical, social, emotional, and intellectual growth opportunities.
Missouri Accreditation serves as a verification of a program’s educational excellence and integrity. The comprehensive review process evaluates the program’s mission, staff qualifications, curricula, and various criteria in areas such as children’s relationships and interactions, physical environment, programming/curriculum, and program/family connections.
Missouri was the first state to establish and implement quality accreditation criteria for programs catering to children and youth. As an independent, non-profit, non-governmental agency founded in 1981, Missouri Accreditation has been at the forefront of developing standards and performance-based assessments. Their ongoing monitoring, evaluation, and recognition of accredited programs ensure a consistently higher standard of quality.
“We are thrilled to receive accreditation from Missouri Accreditation for our afterschool program,” said Marquette King-Connor, Vice President, Youth, Family & Clinical Services at Better Family Life. “This designation reaffirms our dedication to providing top-notch education and care for the children we serve. We are immensely proud of our team’s hard work and commitment to excellence.”
Missouri Accreditation further solidifies Better Family Life’s position as a leader in delivering exceptional afterschool programs. By meeting and surpassing the accreditation standards, Better Family Life continues to prioritize the holistic development and well-being of the children in their care.
