Legacy Institute’s mission is to leave a lasting legacy for minority children, empowering future generations and advancing the African American community in various aspects of life. From education and real estate to leadership, finance, writing, Black history, personal development, mentorship, and even the game of chess, we strive to provide invaluable information that goes beyond traditional school curricula.
By intentionally educating our students on subjects not typically covered in schools, we aim to increase their exposure and level the playing field as they navigate through life. At our upcoming award ceremony, we will showcase some of our remarkable alumni students who have excelled with the support of Legacy Institute.
Moreover, we will honor individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the St. Louis metropolitan area through their unwavering commitment to providing resources and opportunities to families in our community. Their dedication will have a lasting positive impact on the lives of those they have served. Our awardees are Alderwoman Shameem Clark-Hubbard, Senator Karla May,Kevin Bryant, Neal Richardson, and Rickey Whittington.
Following the award ceremony, we have an exciting lineup of performances planned, including a comedy show featuring the funny man from the Straight Jokes No Chaser tour, coming all the way from Atlanta Henry Welch. And that’s not all! We are thrilled to announce that world-renowned saxophonist Rhoda G. will grace the stage, adding a touch of musical brilliance to the event. And to top it all off, we have the incredible two-time Grammy nominated and five multi-platinum recording artist, Carl Thomas, who will close the show with an unforgettable performance.
