Amond Prater, the visionary owner of A-Train Performance, stands as a leader of a fitness empire driven by a passion for holistic well-being. With over 12 years of experience in the fitness industry, Amond has elevated himself to an elite coach, having worked as a strength and conditioning coach for professional MMA fighters, NFL players, and athletes at both the college and high school levels. What sets A-Train Performance apart is Amond’s commitment to individualized programming. Rejecting the one-size-fits-all approach, he believes that real goals deserve real programs tailored to each athlete. A-Train Performance engages clients on physical, mental, and spiritual levels, emphasizing a standard of care that includes movement and mobility screening assessments.
Amond’s journey to becoming a fitness authority began in Marietta, Georgia. In high school, he dedicated himself to cross country, wrestling, and track and field, ultimately focusing more on wrestling and achieving the notable feat of becoming the first Black state champion from McEachern High School in 2002. Reflecting on this achievement, Amond acknowledges the great support of his coach, parents, and a strong support system that propelled him to success. Wrestling led Amond to the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he earned a scholarship and became a DI wrestler.
After a successful collegiate career, Amond launched A-Train Performance in 2013, inspired by a divine connection and the encouragement of his former college wrestling teammate, Tyron Woodley. Amond’s dedication extends beyond fitness. He is deeply involved in wrestling and coaching, offering a range of services to aspiring athletes. Family life is a cornerstone of Amond’s identity, with 15 years of marriage to his wife, Krystal, and four children who bring joy and love into his life.
