While plumbers deal with frozen, burst pipes in the area. There are still some people struggling to stay warm, after shut off of utilities due to non-payments or power outages. And some of those pipe problems also come from no heating sources in most homes.

Note:

For those whose heating source have been turned off by Ameren or Spire, due to non-payment. We tried to find resources to assist them, including Urban League and Heat Up St. Louis. Additionally, there are new reports of burst pipes due to the freezing temperatures left unattended to. As a result, some people are left unhoused due to flooding in some areas, and/or non-payments shut-offs prior to the start of ‘Cold Weather Rule’ which ends March 31st of 2023.

Critics are saying these local utility companies waited right before the rules to demand payments. And cut customers off right before Nov 1st. Below is information those in need to use from Liheap and Heat Up St. Louis.

Liheap a service for low income, disable and elderly, through non-profit Urban League Inc., that help cover their heating costs up to 650+ dollars each season. Is not available for most people, and the funds run out very quickly.
