Since 1912, the ministries of Catholic Charities have lived our mission to bring the healing, help, and hope of Jesus Christ to those in need with a compassionate, caring presence. The shared vision of each of our ministries is that Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of St. Louis will be a premier leader in community renewal and a visible catalyst for social outreach by connecting with people, parishes, and ministries committed to a meaningful communion of care to those in need across every square mile of the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
To Serve Every Square Mile
Consistent with our faith and our mission, we advocate to improve social conditions and unite with others in our important work. We are a parish-centered local ministry and a trusted community provider, offering vital programs and personalized services. As we love and serve our brothers and sisters in the region, our collective efforts are making a difference in the lives of so many people. As the needs continue to grow, Catholic Charities’ services are expanding to provide a communion of care across every square mile of the Archdiocese of St. Louis. We are expanding and broadening our vital ministry thanks to the prayerful and financial support of so many locally who share our commitment to positive change. Together, we are creating vibrant, caring communities, that will help transform the world.
In 2022, more than 96,000 people benefited from our services. 56.9% of these people live below the poverty line. ($26,500 for a family of four.)
- 13,292 children were served directly through foster care, residential placements, counseling, after-school programs, and other services.
- 667,829 meals were served to people who are poor and hungry.
- 671 clients assisted with employment services including job preparation, job search, job training.
- 24,963 individuals received interpretation or translation services
- 5,798 older adults were housed, fed, counseled, or received some other services.
- 903 veterans received legal, counseling, housing, and other supportive services.
Catholic Charities organizations and 900-plus volunteers are dedicated to serving men, women and children who do not have enough to eat; who lack adequate education, housing, or employment; who suffer the trauma of abuse or neglect.
