St. Louis,MO., in my opinion is the most giving city that I know. It is also the most divided and partly improverish metro center that we all come to love.
Drugs and mental illness are just a few reason why some people get left out. In addition to unemployment and living the life of crime, some parts of the city are noticibly stagnated.
However, as we strive to learn about what works and does not work here in a metro of nearly 3 milion people. St. Louis uses that aspect to always come out on top.
The people who have money are always willing to give. And the non-profit organizations in our fair towns are always out proving that contributing goes hand-in-hand.
Urban City Services, a non-profit on the south side, is one of those businesses. Their speciality is helping the underserved (homelessness) community of the city and county of St. Louis, and beyond.
They do not set boundaries and the giving philantrophy of Missouri is always there to fill the need for them and others. Because without the helping hand and or fundings, these non-profits can’t survive.
As UCS stated on Facebook, poverty exists here. With a shortage of services and resources in South St Louis City, Urban City Services along with our community partners are returning to the Dutchtown neighborhood to help.
UCS will be conducting a Winter Donations Drive on November 11th & 12th, also on November 18th & 19 at Thomas Dunn Learning Center to benefit our 2nd Annual Winter Community Giveaway event which will be held Sunday, December 11.
